New Mexico has been inspiring people for years, perhaps most notably is artist Georgia O’Keeffe. The high-desert beauty is unrivaled and the welcoming culture is as refreshing as the crisp blue New Mexican sky.
Our journey in the Land of Enchantment takes us to the high mountains of the Pecos wilderness. We will spend two full days running and exploring this beautiful terrain catching big views, alpine lakes, and inspiration from the vast New Mexican sky. Be inspired and well-fed as we end our days at some of the best local restaurants in the area. This trip is fun, beautiful and you will leave feeling rejuvenated and dreaming of your next trip. All levels of experience welcome including hikers.

AREAS OF INTEREST
Pecos Wilderness a protected wilderness area within the Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forest. The high altitude of the Pecos provides a cool change from the lower deserts and brushlands. The Pecos Wilderness is made up of deep and narrow canyons, long and broad mesa tops, heavily forested slopes, and rugged ridges with peaks above timberline characterize the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Pecos Wilderness. This small mountain chain occupies the extreme southern extent of the Rocky Mountains.
Ghost Ranch: One of two homes of Georgia O'Keeffe in northern New Mexico. Also, served as her studio and the subject of many of her paintings. Now a retreat and education center located near the village of Abiquiú in north-central NM. comprised of 21,000 acres
Plaza Blanca: Located in Abiquiú NM white sandstone cliffs made famous by a series of paintings by Georgia O'Keefe, also served as the backdrop of many movies.
The O'Keeffe Welcome Center: A historic house museum in Abiquiú, New Mexico. From 1943 until her death, it was the principal residence and studio of artist Georgia O'Keeffe. It is now part of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, which has sites in Santa Fe and Abiquiú.
Abiquiu Lake: A reservoir where water of the Rio Chama is impounded by the earth-filled Abiquiu Dam, 1,800 feet long and 340 feet high, completed in 1963 and raised in 1986.
Rio Grande Gorge Bridge: The second-highest bridge on the U.S. Highway System and fifth highest in the US. 650 feet (200 m) above the Rio Grande, span is 1,280 feet; two 300-foot-long approach spans; 600-foot-long main center span.
Palace of the Governors: An adobe structure located in the Historic District of Santa Fe Served as the seat of government for centuries and oldest continuously occupied public building in the US.
Cathedral Basilica Of Saint Francis Of Assisi: Built between 1869 and 1886 and designed in the French Romanesque Revival style, yet one of Santa Fe's most celebrated landmarks.
Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument: A geologic wonder, full of towering cone-shaped tent rock formations formed after volcanic eruptions took place six to seven million years ago.
